My Creative Mind Yearns to Stimulate One’s Mental.

Before my career began, I fostered my creative writing through poetry, love notes, and letters. Soon after, I transitioned to journaling and doing freelance work for a few media outlets.

The coolest part of my journey is how much I’ve changed. I document my evolution as I go, and looking back, I’m a completely different person every time I hit ‘publish’ on a blog post. Seriously—if you knew me back then, you definitely don’t know me now! It’s been a crazy, beautiful ride.

Life, love, and lust coexist in this space. Sometimes lust takes precedence; other times love rears her indecisive head. Life carries a weight of her own. She is the foundation for all things creative. – B.

  • Why Premarital Counseling May Not Be a Good Idea If You Are Under 30
I was driving to the gym this morning, wondering if my love for my partner is idealistic or real. Don’t judge. I often perform deep analysis on life subjects from time to time. In this instance, I wanted to understand whether what I am feeling is real or whether I am romanticizing something. And during… Read more: Why Premarital Counseling May Not Be a Good Idea If You Are Under 30
  • One of Those Days
Today was one of those days. It started off great, with my partner leaving me warm kisses before heading off for the day. But somewhere along the way, it turned into high stress and that weird kind of loneliness that can creep in even when you know you’re not actually alone. First, it’s the end… Read more: One of Those Days
  • He Thought I Left Him Too
When I left my marriage, I thought I knew exactly what I was protecting. I was protecting my peace. I was protecting my dignity. I was protecting the version of motherhood I wanted my child to witness. What I didn’t realize was that my son wasn’t watching the relationship. He was watching me. Two years… Read more: He Thought I Left Him Too
  • Daylight Saving Time Isn’t the Problem. Our Inflexibility Is.
Twice a year, the U.S. has the same debate. Someone says Daylight Saving Time is outdated. Someone else says it’s necessary. Petitions get signed. Bills get introduced. People complain about losing an hour of sleep, and six months later we complain about gaining one back. But I can’t help wondering if we’re arguing over the… Read more: Daylight Saving Time Isn’t the Problem. Our Inflexibility Is.
  • Somewhere Between Mother and Daughter
There are days when I feel like I’m living two lives at the same time. In one, I’m raising a teenager who’s learning what independence looks like. • Not Every Ding Deserves Me
When the rhythm of our outer world is disrupted—even by small things—our inner world feels it. A bird flutters to a nearby branch. An owl hoots in the distance. A car passes. A bike hums by. These are soft interruptions—simple reminders that life is always moving. But then there are the others. The pings. The… Read more: Not Every Ding Deserves Me
  • I Opened. She Closed.
I believe spirit is shapeless. It moves beyond labels, beyond logic, beyond fear. Spirit flows through experience, through curiosity, through desire, through the ache of letting go. It doesn’t care for categories—it wants connection, truth, and growth. That’s why it didn’t feel strange at all when I found myself drawn to another woman. Story time:… Read more: I Opened. My last post was a bit heavy, but I thought it important to publish the things that often cause our consciousness to stretch. We stretch when we are challenged, not when things are rosy. My heart aches in this moment. It’s taken me by surprise because nothing in my life is “wrong,” per se. Last week, I expended a lot of energy on situations that stirred my emotions. Raising my son to not take on his father’s toxic traits is exhausting, especially when trying to balance a healthy feminine energy. Toxic feminine traits are excessive self-sacrifice, overdependence on others, and prioritizing appearance over personal agency. • The End of The Road.
In mid-2019, a purpose driven woman met and fell in love with a very good man. I wrote about him here. This man doesn’t need her for anything, he’s honest, he’s real, he’s damn near perfect. He strokes her alpha characteristics, because she needs to feel as if she’s in control always. Yet, he delicately… Read more: The End of The Road.

  • Coverless Book
Yesterday morning I noticed a homeless guy sitting on a bench. His duffel bag was cocked over the side of the arm rest and his head nearly fell in his lap as he slept his way through the passersby and loud engines. In today’s paper I read that a homeless man was found dead in the same area. When I walked by this morning, a young flirty couple replaced the old man on the bench.

  • My Final Ode to Him
I’m not sure why I still write about him. Maybe it’s because he is and forever will be the guy that I wanted but never had. We’ve lived parallel lives up until this point. Both got married, and divorced; loved and let love. But none of those things seemed to really matter without each other.
  • The Divorcee
Don’t ask me how, but it was something about the way the sheets covered him that brought back painful memories. In an instant the sweet feelings of admiration are gone and vengeance rushes to the surface. The thought of him lying in my bed sickened me and irritation played on the thoughts of him still not having a job, a car, or a place to call his own. The same feelings of “I’m picking up the pieces” triggered a deep feeling of distaste.

My insecurities started when mom met George. Soon after they started dating, mom introduced George to my twin sister, Sabrina, and me. It didn’t take long for George to throw cheap compliments to my sister about her beauty. He encouraged mom to enter Sabrina in beauty pageants for more money, but mom never budged. She didn’t want to give me a complex; but it was too late, George already planted the seed.

  • Marriage v. Contracts
The rapid increase of divorce in American society has me baffled. In a small way, I shake my head in shame that so many people played with the idea of marriage. On the other hand, I think that the traditional vow is out of date, and needs reconsidering. Who came up with those vows anyway? And I question why I chose to follow them. Was I really willing to stick with someone through better or worst, even if the worst stripped me of my pride? Was I really willing to stick with someone until death parted us, even if we fell out of touch? There were too many things that I had not considered realistically. And I see now that I conformed to someone‟s ideal of the way that things should be, rather than what fit my life. Read full story…
